  13. Day 13Andean women, Moray and Maras Salt Mines

After breakfast, at around 8:30 am, we leave Cusco for the Valley, a lower-altitude area that is ideal for an unhurried day.

Our first stop is with the Andean Women, where you will see the traditional process of making wool by hand, from washing and dyeing to spinning and weaving textiles decorated with geometric designs that reflect the Andean worldview and harmony with nature.

Next we visit Moray, an impressive archaeological site made up of circular terraces, and then continue to the Maras Salt Mines, with hundreds of salt pools built by the Incas on the mountainsides and still in use today.

After the visits we return to Cusco, arriving at around 3:00 pm at Plaza Regocijo, leaving the rest of the afternoon free to rest or explore the city at your own pace.

  14. Day 14Departure / return home

After breakfast, make the most of your last hours in Cusco to explore the historic center, its squares, charming streets, viewpoints and markets, or simply say goodbye to the city at your own pace.

Frequently asked questions

Is a 14-day itinerary very tiring?

It is a full itinerary with several destinations and transfers, but every stage is organized so the trip stays comfortable and rewarding. Because some regions are at high altitude, it is important to listen to your body and rest when needed. If you prefer, we can add more free days to make the trip even more relaxed.

Which places will I visit on this itinerary?

You will travel across Peru from Lima to Cusco: Paracas and the Ballestas Islands, Ica and the Huacachina Oasis, the Nazca Lines, Arequipa, Chivay and the Colca Canyon, Puno and Lake Titicaca, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and the main archaeological sites of Cusco.

How do I travel between destinations?

The whole route from Lima to Cusco is overland, by tourist transport, executive bus (including an overnight sleeper bus from Nazca to Arequipa) and the Route of the Sun from Puno to Cusco, plus the train to Machu Picchu. The trip starts in Lima and ends in Cusco; international and domestic flights to arrive and return home are booked by the traveler.

Do I need to be very fit for this itinerary?

You do not need to be an athlete: this itinerary is rated easy and does not include demanding hikes. Even so, some high-altitude regions can make you tire more quickly, and even very fit travelers can feel the effects of altitude. That is why the itinerary balances tours, travel and rest.

Does the itinerary include free time?

Yes! There is a free day in Cusco plus free afternoons in Nazca and Chivay. If you would like more time to rest or explore, we can add extra free days in Lima, Arequipa or Cusco.

Can the 14-day itinerary be customized?
